Bold, Hot, Summer // How to up your accessories game this season
Posted on June 08 2016
As we head into the throes of summer, I’m excited to dive into the amazing colors, prints and shapes this season has to offer. The one challenge I give myself each time a new season rolls around is to make old things new and try to step out of the box. Isn’t that the point of fashion –to live a little? This week, I’m starting with accessories. I usually favor understated pieces but I’m excited to go in a different direction this summer.
First up, when life gives you a bad hair day, feel free to throw on a turban. I’ve experimented with turban head bands in the past but never a full one. I love the “60s in the Riviera” vibe of this pleated turban.
Statement earrings are also something that I haven’t had much interest in since I went pixie length with my hair. These turquoise blue Kendra Scott “Skylar” earrings were a perfect way for me to test drive a new look and feel. They play off the turban so well and I can’t wait to wear them to a few summer events.
Lastly, I couldn’t resist styling this 60s style lace, swing dress with the beautiful “Kylie Lariat” drop necklace from Gorjana. It’s not a piece that I would have traditionally picked for this look but I love that it adds an unexpected element of chic to the whole look.
