In 2008, at the beginning of the recession, my passion for fashion fueled me to launch my online clothing and accessories store Rue de Chic. In 2009, I was laid off from my job and my passion turned into a fulltime business. I also launched an accompanying fashion news Blog – The Rue de Chic Blog and later, La belle et Le Chic, a personal style Blog. In 2011, with a small loan in hand and no contacts, I journeyed to South America to create and produce my first leather collection. Making your dreams come true isn’t always easy. It takes hard work, dedication and perseverance to continue to create in the face of doubt, exhaustion and especially fear. I’m proud of my accomplishments so far and I’m proud to partner with @StateFarm to promote the Color Full Lives Podcast series advocating the personal and professional empowerment of African American women. // Color Full Lives is an 8 episode podcast series sponsored by State Farm.
