Spring trend alert: Animal print gets a make-over

Posted on March 11 2011

We’re continuing our week of spring’s hottest trends with a little animal print action. So far this week, we’ve covered polka dots, floral print and pastel leather. With animal print, there’s always a very thin line between trendy and tacky. We’re excited that this spring, this trend is getting a fun, light and flirty make-over. Thanks to designers like Dolce and Gabbana and Monique Lhuillier, you can add some chic animal print pieces to your wardrobe that are sure to stand the test of time.

Last season, the print was a bit more heavy and concentrated as seen here on Big Love actress, Chloé Sevigny.

This season, it's all about mixing the print with lighter colors like white and lighter materials like lace. Here, Zoe Saldana wears Dolce and Gabbana.

Looks like the animal print trend will be sticking around for Fall 2011 as well. This look was featured at the Monique Lhuillier Fall 2011 show.
